Argentina - Day 4

Day 4, Wednesday, 3/6
We visited the San Telmo neighborhood that is known as the Tango capital. We didn’t see any Tango there. We saw lots of antique and art stores. We bought a mini statue that we later named Miss. Tupungato (we named it after the winner of Miss Vendimia). We had lunch at Sir Telmo, which Brandy claimed was the best pizza of the land. We visited the smallest house in Argentina that slaves built once they were freed. When they were freed, they were given a small amount of land and built this house (6 feet wide) to take advantage of this generous gift of land. We spent the rest of the afternoon walking back towards the Centro. We stumbled upon a state-owned building which had a tank and statue of a soldier, who left his heart in the Falkland Islands.

Before dinner we went to Notorious for live music. We listened to some great acoustic guitar, bass and accordion songs with a passionate singer. We went to a recommended trendy bar, Milion, where we saw the bar owner’s pet black cat jump on the bar and drink from a martini glass. We then went to dinner at La Cabrera where we split a steak and the many side dishes that accompanied the piece of meat.
