Argentina - Day 5

Day 5, Thursday, 3/7
This was a slow day with the high point being a trip to the Evita Museum.  The museum was lovely and relatively one sided to be pro-Peron which is interesting in itself.  After the museum, we spent the day walking around Palermo Soho which makes Southport and Armitage seem inconsequential. Boutique after boutique could only be topped by lunch at Don Julio, a neighborhood pardilla where the empanadas are fantastic as is the Chimichuri for dipping.  After more window shopping, a good nap, we were off to dinner at El Clan (a Kitty recommendation).  On the river in Puerto Madero the restaurant is noveau elegant…a little hip, a little dramatic and a lot of good food. It had excellent Pork tenderloin and solid lasagna.  After dinner (and dancing) we visited with the bartender, Fernando, who makes at least 2 amazing drinks: coffee martini and a sage gin cocktail that were both to die-for.  After a great chat and a few drinks, they closed the restaurant on us so we went to a bar recommended by Frenando.  We only stayed for one drink and left around 3 am – the place (whose name we forgot) was just barely getting started as we left.
