Argentina - Day 9
Day 9, Monday, 3/10
We got up way too early and schlepped to the Mendoza airport to get to BA. Every flight in Argentina goes through BA for the most part. Of course when we landed, we had some empanadas to kill time during our layover then we boarded our flight for Iguazu. We learned that Iguazu is a very small town and even the “tourists” section is pretty local. The town is full of unmarked streets with a handful of wild dogs, trinket stores, small markets and mostly rough cafes. Among it all we managed to find a good restaurant with great, what else, empanadas and café con leche. This was our afternoon snack. Once we had the lay of the town, we went to our hotel, Panoramic Iguazu Hotel. The highlight of our hotel is that is over looked a river that separated Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. So we spent the rest of the evening by the pool enjoying the our view of these 3 countries. All three nights in Iguazu we ate at the hotel. The restaurant was consistently good and this night we had lamb and potatoes.
